People Inc. has named Bonnie R. Sloma to the newly created position of senior vice president, to oversee business development and quality standards in the nonprofit’s health care operations. Sloma, a Lewiston resident, served as vice president of ambulatory and diagnostic services at Erie County Medical Center. She is also a member of Niagara County Community College’s board of trustees. People Inc. has 180 locations in Western New York and the Finger Lakes and 3,400 workers.


Buffalo advertising agency Crowley Webb named Andrea Berki-Nnuji analytics manager and Lauren Dixon digital and social media strategist. Berki-Nnuji previously was with Segmedica, a medical market research company. Dixon returned to Buffalo from Chicago, where she was an assistant account executive at Social@Ogilvy.


Fundraising software developer Softrek Corporation appointed Amie Vuong project manager. Previously, Vuong has worked in Uganda and raised funds for various international, national and community-based organizations on projects focused on community development.

Company Connections

Harper International in Cheektowaga has finalized a contract worth more than $3 million for high-temperature vertical and rotary reactors to support the East China Research Institute of Microelectronics. The systems will be used to produce advanced ceramic materials for applications requiring high-thermal conductivity, such as high-power LED lighting products.


Continental Service Group, a Rochester-based collections agency with a location in Cheektowaga, was named to Training magazine’s “Training Top 125,” based on employer-sponsored training and development programs. The rankings will be disclosed Feb. 9.


The SPCA Serving Erie County, Wings Flights of Hope, and Wounded Warrior Project each received $1,646 from employees of Univera Healthcare, which raised funds in 2014 through a spare change collection in the company cafeteria, on-site book fairs, a basket auction an annual holiday bazaar and other activities. Univera Healthcare also offers nearly all of its employees a corporate benefit of one paid day each year to use for volunteer service in the community. Each employee can select the organization to support with his or her volunteer time off.
