Admitted perjurer gets federal prison term

Michael Acoff, 24, of Buffalo, who pleaded guilty in September to falsely telling a Federal grand jury he had first-hand knowledge about one of the 2011 murders committed by a notorious Buffalo drug gang, was ordered to serve an 18 month jail term Wednesday by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony M. Bruce said Acoff falsely boasted to a grand jury he knew intimate details of the murder of Harold McCain by Bailey Boys Gang member Tyrone Brown on Jan. 19, 2011. Acoff ultimately confessed to getting details of the killing from a third party.
