Ruum kids clothing store going online only

Children’s clothing store Ruum will close all of its mall locations, including one at Walden Galleria.

The company announced on its website that it will close all 25 of its mall locations, which are concentrated in the Northeast, and shift to an Internet-only format.

Ruum was started in 2013 by founder of kids’ clothing retailer the Children’s Place, Ezra Dabah. Dabah bought the non-profitable 77Kids clothing store from American Eagle Outfitters, then rebranded and revamped it under the Ruum banner.

The move to cut out brick-and-mortar stores comes after a holiday season with some of retail’s highest online sales ever.
