Reporters’ Notebook

OLAF FUB SEZ: According to Scottish poet Alexander Smith, born on this date in 1830, “A man gazing on the stars is proverbially at the mercy of the puddles in the road.”

Today and tomorrow

A famous man once said

Yesterday is today’s memory

And tomorrow is today’s dream.

Sometimes the trials of life

Are not as bad as they seem.

If we can take our memories,

Separate the wheat from the chaff,

Perhaps the past will not

Bring tears, perhaps sometimes we’ll laugh.

There is always a chance for a bright tomorrow,

Once more a time to cope,

For man is given the gift of resilience,

An eternal dream of hope.
