Mini-van driver taken to hospital after Grand Island crash

A 52-year-old Grand Island man was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for treatment of upper body injuries he suffered when his mini-van and a pickup truck carrying five teenaged boys and girls collided at Baseline and Fix Roads on Grand Island about 10 p.m., Monday, according to the Grand Island Fire Company.

Richard Ryder was stabilized at the crash scene by fire company medics before being taken to the hospital by ambulance. The teens in the pickup truck, ages 14 to 17 all denied being injured. The crash remains under investigation by the authorities.
