Grimm’s felony conviction should lead to his dismissal
With his guilty plea, Rep. Michael Grimm, R-Staten Island, is now adjudged a convicted felon. As such, is he not disqualified from voting in elections in New York State? Does it make sense then that he should be allowed to vote in Congress?
Furthermore, his past service as both a soldier and as an FBI agent should not be mitigating factors in meting out his punishment. On the contrary, they only heighten his flagrant disregard for the honorable code of conduct that both organizations espouse. He has clearly shown that he is a bully. It is now time to throw the book at him and hopefully, he will break (to use his own words) “like a boy.”
