Kenmore man arrested on felony identity theft charges

A 25-year-old Kenmore man was arrested on felony identity theft and grand larceny charges by Buffalo police Monday evening for allegedly stealing credit card numbers of a West Ferry Street man and making more than $1,300 worth of on-line purchases with the numbers.

Michael LaPiana of Woodward Avenue, was taken into custody about 8 p.m. for allegedly getting access to the Target Store credit card numbers of a West Ferry Street man he knew and making purchases he picked up Friday and Saturday at Target stores in north Buffalo and Cheektowaga. He was charged with identity theft in the second-degree and grand larceny in the fourth-degree.
