Williamsville Central Schools will expand its open enrollment program to Dodge Elementary School in the 2015-16 school year.
The Board of Education earlier this month approved a plan to allow students from throughout the district to enroll at Dodge Elementary next school year.
The decision brings the number of schools in the district that allow open enrollment to six. In addition to Dodge, open enrollment will be available at South High, East High, Casey Middle, Heim Middle and Forest Elementary in 2015-16.
The deadline to open enroll students for the following school year is Feb. 1, 2015. More information is available on the district’s website.
The decision to allow open enrollment at a school is based mainly on current and projected enrollment figures, officials said. Schools that are at or near capacity are limited only to children who live in a school’s designated attendance area.
