Erie County residents can apply for help in paying their winter heating and electricity bills at a Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Outreach session from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Tuesday in the Lackawanna Library, 560 Ridge Road, Legislator Lynne Dixon announces.
Applicants must bring a month’s worth of pay stubs and documentation of other income, Social Security numbers and one form of ID for everyone in their households, proof of residency and their current heat and electric bill.
HEAP monthly income limits are $2,194 for an individual, and increases by $675 for every household member up to six. The next HEAP Outreach in Lackawanna will be held Feb. 4 in the Lackawanna Senior Center, 230 Martin Road.
“Residents do not have to wait for an outreach to apply for HEAP,” Dixon says. Applications are available from her office by calling 858-8671 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
