Attempt at free meal leads to arrest on warrants

Two Buffalo men who left a North Buffalo restaurant Saturday night without paying for their food were apprehended nearby, and one of the men was found to have two outstanding warrants, Northwest District police reported.

Police said Keandre R. Woodard, of Stewart Ave., and Mark A. Carr, of Grote St., left the Denny’s at 2215 Delaware Ave. about 10:15 p.m. without paying their $34.50 bill.

Buffalo police pulled over their 2006 Toyota Sequoia a short time later at Hertel Ave. at Wallace Ave., according to a report.

Woodard, who turned 21 on Sunday, and Carr were charged with theft of services. Woodard was also charged with driving with a suspended license and was found to have warrants issued in Amherst and Lackawanna, police said.
