Thieves struck twice early Saturday morning on Hoyt Street on the city’s upper West Side.
The first robbery occurred just after midnight in the 400 block of Hoyt, according to police. The robber approached a man on his porch and displayed a small, black handgun. The thief, accompanied by another man, took a couple items from the victim and fled.
Five minutes later, A Bird Avenue man told police he was walking at Hoyt and Bird when he also was approached by a male with a small, black handgun. The robber, also accompanied by a male, took some items from the victim, then ran down Bird toward Parkdale Avenue, police said.
The victims provided only vague descriptions of the robbers.
