A 25-year-old North Collins woman was charged with child endangerment on Christmas Eve after she was found huffing aerosol spray in a the bathroom of the Springville Walmart while her 5-year-old son waited outside with a relative.
Samantha Scinta was seen by a store loss prevention officer holding an aerosol can close to her face, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies also found in Scinta’s possession a strip of Suboxone that was prescribed to another person and a bag of marijuana.
She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of toxic vapor and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 9. Child Protective Services was notified and the child was released into the custody of a relative.
