Two injured in separate crashes

A 73-year-old man was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center Friday morning after his vehicle struck a tree in Sardinia.

The crash happened on Curriers Road at 5:50 a.m., the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.

While the extent of his injuries was unknown, the man was conscious and stable.

Another driver is in critical condition in ECMC after her vehicle flipped over in Wales Thursday night.

The crash, which ejected the 70-year-old driver from the vehicle, happened on Big Tree Road at 7 p.m. The woman was transported from the scene by Mercy Flight.

Her dog was in the vehicle at the time but was not seriously injured, officials said.

Both crashes remain under investigation by the Sheriff Office’s Crash Investigation Unit.
