One suspect is in custody, and another is sought, in connection with a Dec. 1 home invasion on Grand Island, Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reported Wednesday.
It was about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when two people went to a home on Baseline Road, where they kicked in the door, assaulted the resident and fled with her television set, Howard said. The victim identified the assailants for deputies, who tracked down and arrested Adeela Bonavito, 35, of Buffalo on Tuesday.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Melvin Johnson, 38, also of Buffalo, the sheriff said.
Bonavito was charged with felony counts of robbery, burglary, assault and criminal mischief. She’s being held in lieu of $25,000 at the county Holding Center, pending an appearance Friday in Grand Island Town Court.
