Two knifepoint robberies reported in same Buffalo neighborhood

Two women reported they were victims of separate knifepoint robberies Tuesday night in the area of Lawn Avenue and Page Street in the Black Rock neighborhood of Buffalo, according to Northwest District police reports.

The first robbery occurred at about 8 p.m., reports state. The victim told officers that a man wielding a silver switchblade knife grabbed her purse and a department store shopping bag containing numerous items.

The robber ran north on Page, then east on Lawn, officers were told.

Approximately two hours later, another woman reported she was robbed by a man who emerged from the backyard of her home in that area. The man had a pocket knife, she told officers, and demanded her purse.

The robber fled on Lawn Avenue, according to reports.

Descriptions given to police differed in the physical descriptions of the robbers and the clothing they wore.
