The Buffalo police department SWAT team was called Wednesday afternoon to a home in the 1600 block of Clinton Street, near Bailey Avenue, for a standoff with a man in the home, officials said.
A fire was later reported in the 2 1/2 story occupied dwelling, causing an estimated $5,000 damage to the building and $2,000 damage to the contents, according to Buffalo fire officials.
There were reports that a man was led out of the home in handcuffs after the SWAT team entered the home.
Firefighters were originally told to stand by at nearby Clinton Street and Bailey Avenue during the standoff.
There was no word on the reason for the standoff nor of the cause of the fire.
