The costs of various building permits in Niagara Falls have just gone up.
The City Council on Monday night approved some new fees and increases in some existing fees for permits from the city's Department of Code Enforcement.
Here's the full fee schedule, which shows the old and new fees.
The changes were approved by a 3-2 vote of the Council, with Chairman Charles A. Walker, Councilwoman Kristen M. Grandinetti and Councilman Andrew P. Touma voting in favor of the changes. Touma sponsored the proposal.
Supporters said is the first increase in years and brings the city in line with the fees in neighboring municipalities.
They also said the bulk of the increases are on the commercial property side.
The new fee schedule also adds the Niagara Falls Housing Authority to the list of public bodies exempt from paying fees.
