The Buffalo area’s newest hotel opened for business this week, as the new Aloft Buffalo Airport joins a crowded field of lodging establishments near the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. It marks the first hotel in the area under a Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide brand.
The new hotel, owned by Canadian firm Manga Hotels, is located at 4219 Genesee St., directly across from the airport property. It features 153 loft-like rooms, each with a 42-inch LCD television, a plug-and-play station for electronics, and Aloft’s “ultra-comfortable” bed and “Bliss” bath amenities.
The hotel itself, with a “cutting-edge” and modern design, offers a bar with live performances, a grab-and-go food service area, an indoor splash pool, a fitness center and 600 square feet of meeting space.
Aloft is the new and trendy brand for Starwood, one of the world’s largest hotel companies with more than 1,200 properties in 100 countries, under brands such as Westin, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, St. Regis, W, Le Meridien and Element. The privately owned Manga, which operates the new airport hotel under the Aloft flag, runs 10 hotels under the Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, Carlson and IHG brands in the United States and Canada.
