Warehouse apartment plan spurs lease of new site

The owner of a Main Street warehouse in Buffalo targeted for conversion into apartments for young professionals is planning to move his company’s operations into a warehouse in the Town of Tonawanda.

Mark Lampart, CEO of American Household Storage Co., said he signed a contract Monday to lease a 50,000-square-foot warehouse at 1110 Military Road, just west of the Village of Kenmore.

Lampart said he plans to move his company, an agent of Allied Van Lanes, to the new location from its current home at 1665 Main St. once he closes on a contract to sell the Main Street warehouse to a partnership led by developer Nick Sinatra.

Sinatra & Company Realty and its partners are set to spend $9.4 million to buy 1665 Main and convert the 100,000-square-foot building to 50 to 60 apartments.

That transaction is expected to close in February.
