The City of Buffalo ill conduct a Christmas tree and electronics waste-recycling event Jan. 17 at the Engineering Garage, 1120 Seneca St.
Residents are encouraged to drop off electronic equipment from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents can also regularly dispose of electronics during the year at the Engineering Garage from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month.
Trees, which should be free of ornaments and tinsel, will be turned into wood chips that residents can take home as mulch.
The city also will have curbside collection of real Christmas trees from Jan. 5-9 on scheduled garbage days. Residents can also drop off trees from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Saturday to Jan. 17 at the following locations: the golf course parking lot south of Seneca Street at Cazenovia Park, the parking lot north of Hertel Avenue at Shoshone Park, and the rear parking lot of the Engineering Garage on Seneca Street.
Officials also note that during the week of Christmas, Thursday’s garbage and recycling will be picked up on Friday, and Friday’s will be picked up Saturday. A similar schedule will occur for New Year’s.
