LOCKPORT – A Lockport man with a long scofflaw record was arraigned in State Supreme Court Friday on charges of driving drunk while his 13-year-old son was in his vehicle.
Darryn M. Garvin, 56, of Van Buren Street was charged with driving while intoxicated as a Class D felony and with aggravated DWI for the alleged violation of Leandra’s Law. He also faces three counts of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, charging him with driving drunk without a license, driving drunk with at least three outstanding violations, and driving at all with more than 10 outstanding violations.
Garvin was pulled over for an alleged lane violation in the Town of Lockport Oct. 12, and his blood-alcohol content was measured at .12 percent. He remains free on $1,000 bail.
