Emil Dubrawsky of Orchard Park, a retired production manager for the Chevrolet Gear and Axle Plant and an Air Force veteran, died Dec. 11 while under hospice care in Mercy Hospital. He was 93.
Born in West Hazleton, Pa., Mr. Dubrawsky was a 1938 graduate of West Hazleton High School. An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served as an APO postmaster, drill sergeant, cryptographer and entertainment specialist.
His tour of duty included the African-Middle East Theater.
He was a member of the Air Force Memorial Airman’s Society, a charter member of the National World War II Museum, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 15033 and Orchard Park American Legion Post 0567.
He enjoyed football, hockey and music.
His wife of 50 years, the former Thelda “Dolly” Walters, died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Wayne; two daughters, Donna Mangano and Joan Mariea; three sisters, Dolores Roskos, Joan Yelito and Shirely Manna; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held in Hazleton.
