Cheektowaga police charge two with theft of car from Walden Galleria

Two Buffalo residents were arrested Friday and charged with the theft of a car, Cheekltowaga police said.

Tommy Wilson, 47, of Goodyear Avenue, and Lamar Lee, 35, of Gittere Street were in a 2012 Nissan Sentra that was stolen at the Walden Galleria Monday, when the owner left the car running while returning to the mall to pick up a package, police said.

Assistant Chief Jim Speyer said Officers Jacob Wodowski and Jason West were driving on Walden Avenue when their patrol car license-plate reader signaled a stolen vehicle had just passed.

Lee, who initially provided a false name, was charged with false personation and also was the subject of three Buffalo City Court arrest warrants for earlier cases.
