Neighbor’s call leads to arrest

A Buffalo resident’s decision to call the police about a suspicious person led to the arrest of a suspect in a spate of thefts from parked cars.

Charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal tampering is Daniel Long, 19, of 2191 Seneca St. Police said a woman living on Morgan Parkway called them after seeing Long look inside a neighbor’s auto and then stray onto her property.

Officers said in a report filed Sunday that they found Long with more than $1,000 in goods that he admitted had been taken vehicles on Morgan Parkway and Abbott Road.

Police said they also charged Long with criminal possession of a controlled substance because they found him in possession of the pain relievers hydrocodone and Tramadol.
