ELLERTON ELLERTON - John Of Clarence, NY, died October 24, 2014. He was born April 22, 1923 in Hemmingford, Quebec, Canada to Roy Lincoln and Viva Ann (Baskin) Ellerton. John attended schools in Albany, NY and at the University of Florida. He married Natalie Bell who predeceased him on October 23, 2008. His work included more than 30 years with NCR, progressing from Office Manager in Schenectady, NY to Branch Manager in Buffalo, NY, earning many awards along the way including being the first in the nation to achieve sales objectives for the year. He later was Director of Human Resources at M&T Bank. John resigned from the bank to join his wife, Natalie, in her home based decorative accessories business, which at the time was far ahead of the trend. He and Natalie traveled around the country in their motor home while active in this business. John served in the army in WW II in the 302 Cannon Company of the 94th Infantry Division and saw 235 consecutive days of combat including action in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart. John was a Mason, Shriner, and Jester, holding positions in Jesters of Impressario and Director, in Utica, NY. He had been involved in Cub Scouts, Rotary, and the Admiralty of the Thousand Islands. John enjoyed time with his family at their summer place in the Thousand Islands which they began visiting in 1957. He also enjoyed boating, skiing, curling, and golf. John leaves a son John R. (Pamela) of Manlius,
NY, grandsons Andrew (Beryl Wright) and great-grandson Maxwell, and Jeffrey (Ann) and great-granddaughters, Kaleigh and Isla; a daughter Susan Ellerton and
her husband Daniel Baney of Tonawanda, NY, a grandson James Ellerton and great-granddaughter Natalie Marzullo, and grandsons Daniel Jr. and Anthony Baney. A service will be held 11 AM December 6 at Harris Hill Chapel, AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8440 Main Street, Clarence, NY.
