Book signing: The Buffalo History Museum will host a local book-signing event from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the museum, One Museum Court at Elmwood Avenue and Nottingham Terrace. More than 75 local authors will be on hand to meet and greet readers and sign purchased books. In addition, the museum shop offers Buffalo-themed items, many crafted by local artists and made in Western New York. Museum members will receive a 10 percent discount on many items. church anniversary: Trinity Baptist Church, 2930 Bailey Ave., will celebrate its 97th anniversary on Sunday beginning with Sunday School at 9 a.m. and morning worship services at 11 a.m. The afternoon worship service, beginning at 4 p.m., features the Rev. IMAGINE LECTURE SERIES: Bhakti Sharma, chair of the Department of Interior Design at SUNY Buffalo State, will present a lecture entitled “Imagine a Healthy, Wealthy and Sustainable Community: Why the Arts Matter” as part of the Imagine lecture-discussion series from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Ring of Knowledge area on the main floor of the Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square. The talk will follow a showing of the video “How to Look At and Understand Great Art: Your Next Museum Visit – Do It Yourself!” at noon. The free event is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History and Nature.

SPEAKER SERIES: Jake Schneider of Schneider Development will discuss the Apartments at the HUB as part of the monthly speaker series of Working for Downtown, Buffalo Talks, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Ring of Knowledge area on the main floor of the Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square.
