Traffic stop results in drug charges for two Fredonia residents

Two Fredonia residents were arrested on drug charges early Tuesday after their vehicle was stopped allegedly driving the wrong way on a West Side street, Buffalo police reported.

Rachel Banach, 23, of Water Street, and Anthony Nicolas, 19, of Straight Road, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and presumption of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Their vehicle was observed driving the wrong way on Parkdale Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. and stopped nearby in the 100 block of Grant Street, police said.

Officers found marijuana, heroin and drug paraphernalia, according to a report. Police also said Nicolas was driving with a suspended license.
