How the locals fared: Week 12

Our weekly rundown at BN Blitz of the players from Western New York (along with the University at Buffalo) currently in the NFL:

Mike Williams: The Buffalo native was active, but did not play on offense for the Bills in their 38-3 victory over the New York Jets on Monday. William played six special teams snaps (21 percent), but did not register any statistics.

Corey Graham: The other Buffalo native playing for the Bills, Graham made three tackles and defended one pass against the Jets. He played 48 defensive snaps (83 percent) and five on special teams (18 percent), making one tackle there.

James Starks: The Green Bay Packers running back, a Niagara Falls High School and University at Buffalo product, carried one time, but lost 4 yards in his team's 24-21 win over Minnesota. He was targeted once in the passing game, but it fell incomplete. Starks played just four offensive snaps (6 percent).

J.C. Tretter: The Akron product, a fourth-round draft pick of the Packers in 2013, played four special teams snaps (16 percent) against the Vikings.

Rob Gronkowski: The Amherst native continued his strong season with the New England Patriots, catching five passes for 78 yards on 10 targets in his team's 34-9 victory over the Detroit Lions.

Brett Kern: The Grand Island native punted six times for 294 yards in a 43-24 loss to Philadelphia. Kern averaged 40.7 net yards on the six punts (gross 49.0) with a long of 57 yards. Two of the punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.

John Urschel: The Baltimore Ravens' rookie and Canisius High School product -- a fifth-round pick in May -- played six special teams snaps (21 percent) in his team's 34-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

Khalil Mack: The No. 5 overall pick in May's draft by the Raiders, Mack made three takes and registered one quarterback hit in his team's 24-20 victory -- Oakland's first of the season. Mack played 61 defensive snaps (92 percent) and another five on special teams (16 percent).

Trevor Scott: The Chicago Bears' defensive end was inactive for his team's 21-13 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Branden Oliver: The Chargers' running back carried six times for 17 yards and caught four passes for 23 yards in a 27-24 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Oliver played 17 offensive snaps (27 percent).

Josh Thomas: Thomas, a cornerback, was inactive for the New York Jets in their 38-3 loss to the Bills.
