Bank donates $50,000 to help storm recovery

JPMorgan Chase Bank announced Tuesday that it is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross of Western and Central New York to help with recovery efforts from last week’s snowstorm and other winter emergencies.

“Generous donations like these enable us to offer a safe place to stay, a warm meal and a shoulder to lean on for people who have been or will be displaced from their homes by this disaster,” said Rosie Taravella, chief executive officer for the regional Red Cross chapter.

The bank also invited Chase customers in the Buffalo area to arrange alternative payment plans if the storm affected their ability to pay their Chase credit card, mortgage or auto loans on time.
