Second-quarter analysis: Mario Williams doing bad, bad things to the Jets

Mario Williams doesn't need his red contacts to terrorize the New York Jets tonight.

His play inside Ford Field is doing that on his own.

Williams has two sacks and three quarterback hits in the first half, including a highlight-reel hit on Michael Vick in the second quarter. To borrow a phrase from Sabres broadcasting legend Rick Jeanneret, Williams "rag dolled" Vick to the ground.

On the next play, Jets right tackle Breno Giacomini took a false start. Williams is in his head.

Finally on fourth and 1: Credit to Bills coach Doug Marrone. Facing fourth and 1 from the New York Jets' 45-yard line, he went for it. Of course, running back Anthony Dixon was stopped for no gain and the Bills turned the ball over, but still! The Bills' defense held the Jets without points on the ensuing drive.

Perfect celebration: The Bills are 2 for 2 tonight in the red zone, with Scott Chandler catching a 19-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Orton with 43 seconds left in the second quarter. After the score, Chandler feigned shoveling some snow -- a good celebration considering the last week here in Wester New York.
