This week’s historic storm is all but gone from the county, but did not leave without one last parting gift.
Between Wednesday and Thursday night, the National Weather Service reported that some areas saw three feet of snowfall by 10 p.m. The hardest hit areas were near Boston, Wales Center, Hamburg and Eden.
There was little overnight, with the exception of about eight inches in Concord.
Weather Service officials are now turning their attention to flooding expected for the region. They are in the field today taking snow samples to try and determine how much water it holds, which will help them project how much flooding to expect.
“It’s just a dramatic swing from one to the other,” said meteorologist Steven Welch,
