For the third straight year, PrepTalkTV had one of its special episodes as we and the Connolly Cup committee joined to announce the Connolly Cup's 10 finalists.
Connolly Cup Committee chairman Dennis Sarow joined me as we unveil the finalists for the coveted award, which annually goes to Western New York's most outstanding high school football player. Each year, the Riverside Athletic Club's Connolly Cup Committee scouts games throughout the season, announcing weekly honor rolls all with the intent on determining the most outstanding football player in Western New York.
The winner will be announced on Saturday, Dec. 6 during a banquet at Ilio DiPaolo's in Blasdell.
Jake Sisson of Jamestown was last year's Connolly Cup winner; he was also selected as The Buffalo News Player of the Year. In 2013, Corey Barczykowski of Alden won the Connolly Cup while The Buffalo News Players of the Year were Canisius lineman Ryan Hunter and running back Qadree Ollison (the awards are separate; The News is not part of the Connolly Cup committee).
Check out a ton of information on the award at connollycup.com.
