ELLICOTTVILLE – Youngsters can ride with Santa, not in a sleigh, but in a fire truck, at the annual Christmas in Ellicottville celebration Nov. 28 to 30.
Fire truck rides begin as the holiday starts at noon Friday on Jefferson Street. Santa then drops in at 2:15 p.m. during the interactive children’s activities in the Wingate by Wyndham, 11 Mill St.
There will be horse and wagon rides from Washington Square from 1 to 4 p.m. and, at 4 p.m., outside the 1887 Building, 1 W. Washington St., there will be live reindeer.
The Seneca Junction Strolling Quartet will walk the streets, singing carols, and there will be the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. Downtown merchants also are competing for the best window displays.
The schedule begins Saturday and Sunday with a free pancake breakfast with Santa in The Barn Restaurant, 7 Monroe St., followed by a return of Friday’s attractions at slightly different times. The festival concludes at 3 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 699-5046 or visit www.ellicottvilleny.com.
