A new restaurant featuring Thai and Burmese cuisine is coming to Black Rock.
Lin Restaurant, 927 Tonawanda St., could be open for business by the end of November. Owner Khin Maung Soe said interior work has been finished, but some city inspections must be completed before it can open.
Soe, a Karen Burmese immigrant, has been operating Lin Asian Market, 113 Grant St. since 2010. That grocery will remain open, and a second grocery will open next to the restaurant, which is at the corner of Tonawanda and Crowley streets, across from the southwest corner of Riverside Park.
The 50-seat restaurant will offer Burmese breakfast food in the morning, and a menu of Thai and Burmese dishes for lunch and dinner, he said. Soe plans to offer neighbors a taste of his menu at a free buffet when he opens, he said.
Lin Restaurant will be kitty-corner from Lucy Ethiopian Cuisine’s second location, at 916 Tonawanda St., expected to open in the first half of 2015.
