Frontier picks new board member

Frontier Central School Board members have chosen David Patton of Lake View to fill the vacant seat on the board.

Patton, a Frontier graduate, was one of 15 residents who told the board they were interested in the position. The seat was left vacant when Lynn Szalkowski resigned in September.

A licensed professional engineer in New York and Florida, Patton will serve until the day after the May election. The third-highest vote-getter in the election will then assume the seat for the one year remaining in Szalkowski’s term.

A press release issued by the board thanks the applicants, calling them highly qualified.

Board members plan to appoint Patton at Tuesday’s meeting.
