First responder training and free programs on tap Saturday at Kingsbridge Park

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – Kingsbridge Park on Niagara Parkway will be a beehive of activities Saturday with the training of emergency responders, simulated emergencies and programs for the public, Niagara Parks Police said..

Training sessions will see helicopters taking off and landing, rescues in both the Niagara and Welland rivers, and rescues at Table Rock by the Parks Police High Angle River Team.

Free programs for the public will be offered at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., including “Hug a Tree and Survive Canada,” a program to teach children in kindergarten through fifth grades how to not get lost in the woods.
