LOCKPORT – A Newfane man who seemingly can’t stay away from his former wife pleaded guilty to a felony Wednesday in Niagara County Court.
Patrick T. Singleton, 37, of Oak Lane, admitted to first-degree criminal contempt and faces as long as four years in prison when is sentenced Dec. 10 by County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas. Assistant Public Defender Alan J. Roscetti suggested that Farkas might want to assign Singleton to the state prison system’s boot camp-style “shock incarceration” program. For now, he’s in the County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baehre said Singleton visited his former wife’s Lockport home Sept. 12 and 15. He had been released from jail in April for violating the terms of probation on a previous conviction for violating two other orders of protection obtained against him by the same woman.
