OLEAN – Cattaraugus County’s poor showing in a recent study of health outcomes will be discussed by local health care professionals in “Prescription for a Healthy Community,” a series of workshops and presentations on Saturday.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 633 Linwood Ave., near Olean General Hospital. Lunch will be provided. It is sponsored by the Health Care Access Coalition of Olean.
The coalition notes that Cattaraugus County was ranked 52nd among the state’s 62 counties in health outcomes. When factors such as tobacco use, diet and quality of care are considered, the county’s ranking fell to 55th.
