Forest road to open for wood-cutting

WARREN, Pa. – One of the forest roads in the Allegheny National Forest will be opened Friday for two weeks to make it easier for the public to harvest firewood for personal use, the U.S. Forest Service announces.

Forest Road 162 in Sheffield Township, Warren County, and Howe Township, Forest County, will remain open until Nov. 14. A valid firewood cutting permit is required. Since it is hunting season, woodcutters are advised to take proper safety precautions.
