Two hurt when SUV rear-ends tractor in Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS – Two people were injured Sunday night when a sport utility vehicle rear-ended a tractor being driven along Route 353 in the Town of New Albion, according to Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies.

The SUV, driven by Lyndsay M. Feuerstein, 25, of South Street, Cattaraugus, was southbound on Route 353 shortly after 7:30 p.m. when it hit an unregistered tractor, also heading south, driven by Thomas S. Flattery, 68, of Route 353, deputies said.

Flattery was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of head, neck and back injuries, deputies said. His condition wasn’t available this morning.

Feuerstein was taken by ambulance to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville for treatment of facial and arm injuries, deputies said.

No tickets were issued, deputies said.
