LEWISTON – The south access road to the fishing pier at the base of the Niagara Power Project will reopen Saturday, the New York Power Authority has announced.
The road was closed during reconstruction of the road and walkways, and a shuttle service connecting the pier with the Power Vista parking lot has been available. That service will end at 5 p.m. Friday.
The shoreline stairway also will be open for seasonal use, NYPA said.
The construction project resulted in the installation of a redesigned road and a riverside walkway with a guardrail.
Fishing piers will remain open from dawn to dusk until Dec. 1, although they could be closed sooner in case of snow or ice accumulation.
