FORESTVILLE – A $190,000 tax anticipation note (TAN) will be paid off seven months early with savings that village of Forestville leaders found in the operating budget and with proceeds from village taxes collected.
At a meeting on Tuesday, board members authorized the payment of $194,790, which includes interest on the TAN. The debt was part of a note that the village borrowed against past amounts due for the removal of a dangerous building.
In other business, Mayor Kevin Johnson said that the last family left on Creek Road has not been able to have a successful water well drilled. Johnson said the family had its third and final attempt at a well late last week and it was unsuccessful.
Johnson said he has reached out to town of Hanover officials to try to help the family. About 12 families were affected when the village cut off the line on Creek Road. They were all given more than one year’s notice about the loss of the line.
Johnson said the family has requested a delivery of 750 gallons, three times a week to meet their needs. He said the village will not be able to comply with the request.
