Falls stabbing victim is expected to fully recover

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man who was found stabbed in the chest Sunday night at 71st Street and Lindbergh Avenue remained hospitalized Tuesday in Erie County Medical Center where he was in stable condition.

The victim was identified as Nicholas Rubino, 25, of Hyde Park Boulevard.

According to police Rubino is expected to fully recover from his injury.

Rubino said at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, two men approached him as he walked south in the 500 block of 71st Street, stabbed him and then fled. A puncture wound was found on the left side of the chest. Rubino was unable to give any description of the attackers.

Rubino’s former girlfriend told police he contacted her and when she found him she contacted police.
