Temple Beth Zion to hold remembrance of Kristallnacht

Temple Beth Zion in Amherst will host a remembrance of the Nazi Kristallnacht attacks in Germany at 7 p.m. on Thursday, close to the 76th anniversary.

Rabbis will lead a service before a presentation about what is known as “the Night of Broken Glass.” On November 9-10, 1938, before the outbreak of World War II, Nazis burned synagogues, vandalized Jewish businesses and broke windows.

Discussion points will include excerpts from the documentary “More Than Broken Glass: Memories of Kristallnacht.” Eileen Angelini, Canisius College French professor and a Holocaust workshop leader, will talk along with volunteers from the Holocaust Resource Center of Buffalo. A reception will follow in the Temple at 700 Sweet Home Road.
