Prescription drug abuse by adolescents – particularly the increasing use of opioids – is the subject of a program to be held Thursday in Springville.
“Not My Child: A Story of Tragedy and Hope” begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Springville-Griffith Institute High School, 290 N. Buffalo St.
The program will feature representatives of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration; Avi Israel, founder of “Save the Michaels of the World,” an organization that raises awareness about prescription drug abuse; Colleen Babcock, a recovering addict’s mother; and an addiction specialist from Horizon Health Services
