A decrease of nearly 3 percent in the property tax rate is proposed in the tentative 2015 budget submitted by Town Supervisor David C. Hartzell Jr.

The tax rate, per $1,000 of assessed valuation, would be lowered from this year’s rate of $1.03 to an even $1. Also dropping is the tax levy: from approximately $3.26 million to $3.24 million.
