Lackawanna mechanic charged with stealing $4,000 worth of tools

A Lackawanna man was arrested Friday and accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of tools from a Buffalo business that employed him.

Jason M. Mages, 37, of Date Street was charged with stealing a welder, two impact socket wrenches, two air impact socket wrenches and motor vehicle parts for his personal vehicle between May 15 and July 1, while employed as a mechanic at the National Tractor Trailer School, 175 Katherine St., Buffalo. He also is accused of taking scrap metal from the school without permission and selling it.

Mages was charged with third- degree grand larceny.
