ADCOCK - Janice V. (nee Cheeley)
Went to be with the Lord on October
22, 2014, at the age of 85. Janice was a private piano teacher in North Tonawanda for 55 years and proudly taught music to hundreds of students of all ages. She was a 1946 graduate of Kensington High School in Buffalo, earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Government at the University of Buffalo in 1950, a Master's degree at The Ohio State University in 1951, and an Associate's degree in Music Therapy at Niagara County Community College in 1985. Janice was the loving mother of three sons, Andrew (Sheila), John (Jill) and Frederick (Cynthia), and grandmother to William, Jennifer, Joseph and Michael. She also leaves a brother, Robert Cheeley (Lois) of Florida, and several nieces and nephews; beloved daughter of the late Roswell and Helen Cheeley; predeceased by husband John M. Adcock and siblings Lawrence, Dorothy (Kummer) and Richard. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 265 Falconer Street, North Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Riviera Theatre & Performing Arts Center or the North Tonawanda Inter-Church Food Pantry.
