Castile couple jailed on drug, probation charges

CASTILE – A Castile couple was arrested on separate charges earlier this week, the Wyoming County Sheriffi’s Office reported.

Jordan L. McMurtry, 28, and Kris A. Ruda, 36, are being held at the Wyoming County Jail without bail following their arrests at their home on South Main Street home in Castile.

McMurtry was taken into custody on probation violation charges linked to an earlier case and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second-degree.

Ruda, who was in the car with McMurtry, was found to have 10 bags of heroin and seven syringes. He is being held on criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument charges.

Both face further proceedings in Perry Village Court. State Police K-9 Officer “Harris” and his handler, Trooper Jay Hoy, and Wyoming County probation officers assisted in the arrests Tuesday.
