Metro Rail’s above ground section will suspend service beginning at 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday between Lafayette and Erie Canal Harbor stations as the project to return cars to Main Street continues.
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority will instead offer bus service in both directions approximately every 15 minutes between Lafayette Station and Exchange Street. Inbound buses will pick up and discharge passengers along Pearl Street, a block west of the inbound stations, the NFTA said. Outbound buses will pick up or let off passengers along Washington Street, one block east of the outbound stations.
Directional signs at Lafayette Station and passenger alert signs along Pearl and Washington streets will note shuttle bus stops, the NFTA said.
The project involves work on overhead catenary wires. Full services resumes Monday morning.
